Infinite Mage (Novel) Chapter 134

C134

In a word, it was not the intensity of emotions that could exist in reality. It was a situation where the heart could stop due to nervous system shock even if the Indrestuctible was shaken by only one percent.

But Amy wasn't worried. Because it called Indestructible Diamond since it won’t shake even just one percent.

Finally, Shirone pushed the men all the way to the table. Falkoa, who watched the mess, twisted his face in anger.

"What are you doing! Slit his throat now!"

His subordinates rushed forward, drew their longswords worn around their waists.

"Damn it! I can't believe I have to use a sword against a kid!"

At that moment, a flash of light burst from Shirone's body. The flash that occurred in the enclosed space blinded the subordinates' vision.

“Keugh! What!"

As befits those who have mastered the art of the eye, their adaptation was fast enough to escape human limitations. But they didn't move. The subordinates and Falkoa were just staring blankly at Shirone.

"What? What are you going to do by emitting light?"

Shirone flipped his palm and launched a sphere of light. The golden photons were compressed to a pale color as it compressed at a tremendous rate.

"Shirone, you don't mean?"

In front of the force of the photons shaking at an immeasurable frequency, Amy finally realized.

It was a magic that accelerates mass at a speed comparable to light to create a shockwave, the Photon Cannon.

"Shirone! That is......!"

It is not easy to avoid the Photon Cannon in an enclosed space. Eventually, someone will be hit directly and that would undoubtedly result in fatalities.

Before Amy could finish her words, Shirone held up the white sphere. And with all his might, he slammed it to the ground.

The moment the flash struck, a thunderous roar spread throughout the room as if thunder had struck right in front of them.

“Keugh! What, what is this!"

Those in the room covered their ears. As shockwave spread across the ground, the underground structures shuddered. Piles of dust poured down from the ceiling.

The subordinates were in a state of shock as if they had survived a natural disaster. The echoes of the roar, trapped underground, were still lingering in their ears.

After a long while, the gang members looked around the place where Shirone's magic had been hit. Surprisingly, the ground was not deeply dug. However, the flattened area exceeded a diameter of 4 meters.

"What is, this... Isn't this underground?"

The subordinates couldn't believe it even after seeing it with their own eyes.

This was Temple that could be said to be the strongest structure in Galliant. In order to create a space underground, a design focused on durability is essential. In fact, thick steel plates were laid on the floor of Temple.

It was understandable that the entire basement was shaken if the steel plate was carelessly flattened. In short, it was not a force that humans could withstand.

Like veterans, the subordinates did not show a crying expression. However, they kept as much distance as possible and was wary of Shirone.

Falkoa's impression crumpled again at the sight.

Overcaming 10 Pressure is one thing, but the magic the kid had demonstrated now was the first of its kind even for him, who had been through countless battlefields.

"You... Who the hell are you? Which Line are you from?"

A huge network of mage connecting continents is called Line. But Shirone didn't know the term commonly used in the magical society. He just boldly declared his origin.

“I am Shirone who attends Alpheas Magic School.”

Jis looked back at Shirone in amazement. For nobles, their origin is a golden rope, but in some circumstances, it can be a shackle.

Since he was treated so badly at the port, there was no way that Shirone didn't know about it. But why did he reveal his origin?

"Student? That's ridiculous. Are you saying you acted out just as a student? Hey, you know what? If made a complaint to your school, you will be finished that very moment. You will probably be expelled.”

“If you want to file a complaint, do so, as much as you want.”

Falkoa's eyebrows twitched at the unexpected reaction.

“It doesn’t matter whether it’s disciplinary action or expulsion. Such things won't dictate my life. Of course, school is an important place for me. But there are plenty of things more important than that. And Amy....”

Shirone glared at Falkoa and continued.

"She takes precedence over all priorities I’ve set for myself.”

Amy blinked her eyes. The increasing speed of her eyelids seemed to reflect her heart rate.

"I don't mind any punishment. If you want to sue, do it. But Amy won't stay here even for a second. If you bring my friend to such a filthy place one more time, then I will really smash everything.”

With a whoosh, Rian's straight sword (직도(直刀)) came out with water-like sound. The sheer size of the sword, equal to the height of an average person, was tremendously intimidating.

“As expected of Shirone. I knew there isn’t mistake in my eyes.”

Rian realized why he had hesitated to draw his sword until now. Just as a small crack breaks an iceberg, the minor obstacle of disciplinary action seemed to have disturbed his convictions.

“You are right, Shirone. Putting your friends in danger because you're afraid of disciplinary action? You must be kidding. Ogent Rian has never lived that way, even for a moment.”

After Rian, Tess's swords were pulled out.

“Hohoho! The same goes for Elzaine Tess! We can't leave the Shirone faction's mascot, Amy, in a den of thugs like this!”

Rian looked back at Tess as if he was dumbfounded.

"Since when are you part of the Shirone faction?"

"Ugh, just let it slide at times like this. You're so tactless."

Tess, who teased Rian, turned to Amy. She's still lost in her thoughts, but her cheeks are more flushed than before.

A warm smile crept across Tess' lips.

'You're lucky, Amy.'

As a woman herself, Tess could guess Amy's feelings.

To Shirone, Amy was not just a dot looked down from an omniscient point of view. She is an irreplaceable friend. Or perhaps, something even more than that.

Shirone, who pushed the subordinates' approach with force, walked towards Amy. Then he held out his hand and repeated his initial words.

"Let's go back, Amy."

Finishing her thoughts, Amy lifted her head and spoke.

"...Un."

When Amy stood up, Falkoa's face flushed red. These bloody rascals came rushing in, making a commotion, and now they were going out on their own.

'Has the world renowned Falkoa fallen this far?'

It's been almost five years since the entire organization fled the continent's bounty hunters and hid on this island. Despite everything that had happened, he found it all utterly dull.

Thanks to this, his brain was addicted to drugs, and even his bloodthirsty mind had grown oily. But just five years ago, it was Falkoa who cut down countless people while crossing the continent.

At that time, he was an entity that existed solely to slay someone. Even the gang leader couldn't ignore Falkoa's skills, which was why he hadn't been exiled until now.

"Hey, you're not thinking you can leave unscathed, are you?"

Amy stopped and looked back at Falkoa.

"It will be troublesome for you too if you cause a commotion here. The guests underground are drug addicts, plus they are your biggest money source. If you want to sue us, do so. But neither of us will stand still. This place might have to close down."

“Did you just blindly believe and rushed in? I'm sorry, but no one on this island can touch me.”

"But it might be different on the mainland."

Falkoa frowned and looked at Amy. Both of her eyes were blazing red.

'Red Eyes. She must be Carmis.'

Falkoa knew the famous Carmis Family. They had the ability to store a specific state and restore it at any time.

No drug could addict them, and no substance could infiltrate them. The Carmis family wasn't called invincible in the mental realm for nothing.

'Did it mean that she was a fish that could not be caught from the beginning? That girl knows everything from beginning and still follow along.'

Falkoa gnashed his teeth with a poker face.

If it was the Karmis Family, it a first rank family in the noble hierarchy, so if he were to put his hand on her, it wouldn't be impossible for the reputation he had built over five years to collapse.

The profits from distributing the drug 'Loop' were immense. Even Falkoa, who was out of his mind, was sensitive to money. Because without money, he couldn't buy Loop.

"Hah! Cheeky bitch. I will definitely repay you for this humiliation!”

"Do it if you can. But you'd better be careful the next time we meet. Now that this has happened, I’m thinking of not caring about school and letting it loose.”

Amy, who had given Falkoa a piece of her mind, returned to Shirone and his group.

“Sorry for making you worried. Let's go now.”

Not wanting to stay here any longer, they hurried upstairs. Employees were watching at every corner, but none could stop them.

As soon as they left the tavern, they could feel a dramatic change in the air. Tess spread her arms and inhaled the night air.

"Phew, I feel good. Thanks to Amy, we got the tour right. We went around the most famous Royal Palace on Galliant Island, from the basement to the top.”

"Hahaha! You're right. We even went to the white sand beach, stopped at the harbor, and walked around the commercial district, so I guess we’ve been to all but the historical sites?”

Amy was taken aback by Rian's words.

"What? You guys even went to the port?"

"Yes. Shirone said it was faster to ask the gang members. We ran frantically. If it weren't for the passionate horse-drawn carriage driver, we would have missed the time."

Amy looked at Shirone. Then, when her eyes met, she slightly averted her gaze. She haven't had the courage to look at his face properly yet.

She remembered Shirone's words she heard in the basement. It would have been about the importance of friends without any misinterpretation, and that was enough.

Why didn't she realize? At the time of her fall from the cliff, Shirone was the only one who reached out to her and called her name.

Amy could be satisfied with realizing the meaning of it.

"Amy, sorry I'm late. I'll tell you about it when we go back. There was a special circumstance on the way here."

"Hmm, I'm not even curious! Why do I have to listen to such a story?"

“Are you still angry?”

Her anger has already been resolved. But Amy thought it would be better to stay angry.

"Let's get this straight. Surely you're not imagining anything strange about today's matter, are you? A prince on a white horse who saved the princess, something like that.”

"Huh? No?"

“Thank you for coming to help, but I followed for personal reasons, not because I was captured. Even without your help, those guys are no match for me."

"Haha! I see. I'm in a lower class, and you're about to graduate, who worry about whom?"

When Shirone readily agreed, Amy felt somewhat deflated.

"Well, whatever... as long as you know. It's just like that."

Tess laughed out loud, holding her stomach. It felt like Amy had finally returned to her original Amy.

As Rian turned his steps towards the commercial district, he shouted.

"Late-night snacks? Great! I love it! Hurray!"

Jis was able to return home after midnight as he had to clean up the bar.

After being hit, on edge, and laboring, his body felt heavy, as if he had doubled his weight.

Even so, he was able to endure it thanks to the relief that the things he feared did not happen.

Amy escaped safely from Falkoa's clutches. Of course, he himself didn't suffer much harm either.

Since he did what he was told to do, so even Falkoa would not have any excuse to beat him.

'If it weren't for her, I might have died.'

Amy's face appeared vividly in his mind as if she were present.

Of all the women Jis had ever met, there was no woman as strong and beautiful as her. Why did such a remarkable person try to help him?

'Shirone? He also said he's a commoner.'

Jis remembered everything Shirone said at the bar.
